Being in a certain age group that is affected by proposed government plans made me sit back and think about my life expectancy and my future. A recent WEF paper proposes that we may now live to be over 100, and this impact has huge consequences for us all. The full paper can be found here.
However, my initial thought was "...am I classified as middle aged now, or is that being debated too?"
Plans to move the State Pension age from 67 to 68 for some could be brought forward by seven years. Those born between 6 April 1970 and 5 April 1978 – 39-47 year olds – may now have to wait a year longer to claim their State Pension, currently worth over £8,000 each year. The change is still under review
