A disappointing report from Altus Consulting, showing that our industry still has some way to realise the vision of being the "Digital First" industry we need to be.
There is so much we can do at a tactical level to deliver quick wins and move us off the "4% digital" we seem anchored to, especially in claims.
These quick wins can fund the next stage projects and move any insurer along the journey to truly realising the very best, digitally assisted, human service an insurer can provide.
It needs a vision, tactical and strategic plans and a leader who can steer the organisation through the journey. But it can be done.
Who wants to reap the benefits of getting there ahead of the competition?
The UK’s general insurers have been ranked on their performance in offering a digital experience to customers across a policy’s lifecycle, and the findings reveal that the industry still has a way to go. Twenty four insurers were ranked based on their digital offerings across eight services, with claims coming out as the area most lacking – just 4% of insurers were found to offer claims services digitally. Overall, the research by Altus Consulting found that beyond quote and buy, digital capabilities among general insurers are lacking.
